R.E.M. Accelerate Review

Yes, that 80's band full of what some people call "hasbeens" who have sorta been dwindlin' out ( i dont' mean skill, i mean popularity) finnaly came out with a pretty good album. Accelerate, is it's name and accelerate is it's game. What i mean by that is that it's an album packed with fast movin' (REM, Fast, No Mandolins, Outrage!!) awesome piece of political rock. I don't have the album yet, but i heard them when they were on the Colbert Report and it was cool. I want, You should want it too!

Forrest Gump

Hey, I just watched this excellent movie, but as i was watching i notices an awesome soundtrack.  It's not any ordinary soundtrack with one or two good songs and a bunch of cruddy ones, it was amazing.  It had multiple Doors songs, The Byrds, Jimi Hendrix and much much more!

 

                                     

 

Juno Soundtrack

Even though i have never seen Juno and dont plan on it in a comment Leah suggested it. I took a look at it over the internet and it was a tad slow for me but it had some good stuff like the Kinksand the Velvet Underground so maybe you should give it a try :)

Poll Results

Our previous poll concluded that readers would definately reccomend Jimmy Page as the BEST guitarist all-time! Also it shows that no reader was observant enough to realize(even with my reminders) that Robert Plant was NO guitarist. Now let me explain the new poll, The question is the stones or the Beatles. This is symbolic because it references the two major music groups of the the time. Try not to vote for other unless you have a band in mind and a good, hopefully satircal story. If so comment on hte "other" band. More importantly The Doors is on the list because i once heard a story where when asked, "The Beatles or The Stones?" He replied the Doors cuz' thats what they played when he was in Vietnam!

Zeppelin

Hey, Zeppelin is getting back for one final tour, And since they all hate(or dislike) each other this will be the last. Get tickets when they are out at link under this post. Even though none of us are going just wanted to remind you of their,only slightly overrated, brilliance. Iknow you might turn off Stairway whenever it's on the radio but the first time you heard it you liked it, no matter how hard that is to imagine. And no matter what you say about them being old we all know you want to go as bad as all of us. And you know how hard it is just to see them on youtube cuz' there weren't alot of videos of them,Not counting their recent O2 debut which you were right the first time not as good as the first few concerts(not saying it's bad). Don't you really want to see Zeppelin live on your computer. Well i put it right above the links where the videos of the week normally are. Don't woory it'll last a while. And still nobody realized how one option on the poll was actually a zeppilan singer. If anyone votes for him you'll find me laughing hysterically in a corner.

Animals

Yes, the album. Pink Floyd recorded this and it is very similar to Orwell's Animal Farm, Hence the name Animals. The point is they express different groups of people in 2-12 minute songs. The just of it is that Sheep are mindless followers, Dogs are big bad corporations and pigs(sounding familiar to the book yet??) are the mind controlling leaders and opinion leaders. Whether or not you have even read Animal farm, animals it is still a great album! Speaking of Pink Floyd I cant beleive nobody realized that one option on the polls was a singer for Zeppelin, Who'd you think he was. The guitar for Floyd is David Gilmore.
